A global employee-owned engineering consulting firm is looking to bring on a Lead Transmission Interconnection Engineer to join the team! This position will support and lead the growing Transmission Interconnection group, working on wind, solar, and battery storage projects across the US, with the ability to work fully remote within the US.
The Lead Transmission Interconnection Engineer will be responsible for:
- Leading transmission interconnection studies in PSSE and TARA
- Performing and reviewing power flow studies and models
- Coordinating between internal and external stakeholders
- Lead/guide a team of power systems/transmission planning engineers and provide guidance for junior engineers performing modeling/analysis
The Lead Transmission Interconnection Engineer should have the following qualifications:
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 4+ years of Transmission Planning/Interconnection experience
- Expertise in PSSE and TARA
- Experience with interconnection applications and studies, specifically FCITC, injection, and cluster studies
- Experience working in and managing interconnection processes in one or more ISO/RTO (ERCOT, NYISO, ISO-NE, MISO, SPP, CAISO, or WECC)
- Understanding of the Open Access Transmission Tariff/FERC regulations
