Our client, a leading small business MEP/FP and architecture consulting firm specializing in government, institutional, and higher education projects is seeking a talented lead fire protection engineer to join their team. This permanent position will be based out of McLean, VA (just outside of Washington DC).
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of the design process for various types of buildings including governmental facilities
- Conduct site visits to gather information necessary for designing efficient systems that meet clients' needs while adhering to safety codes
- Create detailed plans using Revit or other similar software programs
-Lead teams consisting up junior engineers
Qualifications:
-Bachelor's degree in Engineering required; Master's preferred.
-Fire Protection Engineering License
-Minimum 10 years experience working with LVI & MEP engineering firms.
-Knowledgeable about local building codes and regulations related specifically to fire prevention methods.
Skills:
-Solid understanding Of HVAC Systems Design And Layouts
-Thorough knowledge on sprinkler system designs
-Familiarity With Codes Such As NFPA72,NFPA13 etc.
