We are seeking a skilled commercial / industrial estimating professional for the mechanical industries. The ideal candidate will be adept at assembling accurate estimates and detailed proposals for customers with minimal oversight. This office-based role involves leading the estimating team and assisting the Chief Estimator.
Responsibilities:
- Identify, quantify, and record piping and equipment for mechanical systems.
- Review bid documents and seek clarifications for accurate bids.
- Handle budgeting, unit pricing, pipe sizing, and code compliance for Plumbing, Piping, and HVAC Duct Systems.
- Manage and bid on multiple projects, creating detailed estimates with material, labor, and subcontractor selections.
- Survey projects to identify optimal pricing solutions.
- Evaluate vendor and subcontractor proposals for compliance.
- Estimate HVAC and plumbing projects and change orders.
- Provide conceptual design and pricing support.
- Complete system take-offs per B&K processes.
- Consider value engineering options with the B&K team.
- Develop project conditions, scope summaries, and schedules.
- Participate in bid finalization and review.
Requirements:
- Proficiency in pipe takeoff software (Quickpen/Autobid beneficial).
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
- Dependable and available consistently.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced construction office.
- Organisational skills for document management.
- Aptitude for learning new systems.
- Mechanical knowledge and project management skills.
- BSME in Engineering/HVAC or Construction Business Management preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Word and Excel for detailed quotes.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Strong multi-tasking, organisational, and prioritization skills.
Benefits:
- Base salary: $150,000 - $175,000 (DOE)
