We have a current opportunity for a Lead Substation Design Engineer on a permanent basis. The position will be based in Contra Costa County, California on a hybrid flexible basis. For further information about this position please apply.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the technical lead for substation design, covering distribution, sub-transmission, and transmission voltage levels.
- Develop electrical design deliverables, including protection and control design (protective relays) and/or physical design.
- Performs complex research and develops recommendations for equipment and/or materials selection
- Prepares complex engineering calculations following standard methods and principles
- Manages assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements
- Plans and conducts independent evaluation, selection and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria
- Actively engage in project management, scheduling, and work/resource planning meetings.
- Interface directly with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Conduct QA/QC on projects and mentor junior engineers.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering from either a recognized accredited program in their home country or the country in which the professional is practicing.
- Minimum of 5 years related work experience.
- Substation Design experience - Physical and/or Protection & Controls
- P.E. License is Required
