Job Description:
Our client is seeking a qualified Civil Engineer to plan, design, and direct complex civil engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in municipal infrastructure projects and a strong background in civil engineering principles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Prepare budget estimates, control costs, and manage schedules for assigned tasks and projects.
* Calculate costs and determine project feasibility based on data analysis.
* Prepare or direct the preparation and modification of reports, specifications, plans, installation schedules, environmental impact studies, and designs for projects.
* Coordinate program efforts with other individuals and groups, including utilities, stakeholders, and community relations representatives.
* Use CAD software and equipment such as Civil 3D, MicroStation, and gravity flow and pressure flow modeling software.
* Apply knowledge of hydrology and hydraulic modeling to develop sustainable solutions for stormwater, sewer, and potable water flows.
* Assist in training staff.
* Participate in the preparation of engineering proposals, including scope, schedule, and budget.
* Make oral presentations to clients and organizations.
* Build client relationships and market identity.
* Specialize in land development engineering.
* Understand the land development entitlement and application processes from initial submittal through the construction phase.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in civil engineering.
* Minimum of 4 years' experience in municipal infrastructure projects.
* Valid certificate of registration as a Professional Civil Engineer in CA.
* Master's degree in a related field is preferable, as are certificates in stormwater management or QSP/QSD.
