A prestigious and long-time operating full-service Architecture & Design firm in Michigan is seeking an experienced Interior Designer. The ideal candidate will lead and collaborate with others on a wide range of projects from K-12 Education, Higher Education, Libraries, Community buildings, Multi-use facilities, and more! This Interior Designer will have a hand in both the production and design of new spaces while also frequently acting as the client lead.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and create design concepts that reflect the facility's brand and purpose.
- Develop detailed construction drawings that optimize space utilization, traffic flow, and functionality while adhering to building codes.
- Use 3D visualization tools to create models, renderings, and virtual walkthroughs suitable for client presentation.
- Select furniture, fixtures, equipment, and materials that enhance functionality and aesthetics, incorporating sustainable practices.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors, engineers, and other professionals to ensure seamless integration of interior design elements with the overall architectural design.
- Oversee the implementation of the design plan, including coordinating construction and installation activities, managing timelines, and addressing challenges.
- Manage project budgets and ensure compliance with building codes, accessibility guidelines, and other regulations.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of relevant Interior Design experience, K-12 project experience a plus but not required
- Bachelor's Degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a relevant field
- Proficiency in CAD software and other design tools; Revit & AutoCAD are a priority
- Excellent communication, collaboration, creative, and artistic skills
- Knowledge in building codes, regulations, and industry design standards
- Experience managing Interiors projects and small project teams
