Position Summary
As the Regional Sales Manager for industrial wastewater processes, you will oversee and drive sales activities within your assigned territory. You will be responsible for leading the sales team, developing strategies, and expanding the market presence of our wastewater treatment solutions-particularly membrane bioreactor (MBR) systems. This role combines strong relationship-building skills, technical knowledge, and strategic planning to achieve revenue targets, manage a sales pipeline, and ensure an exceptional customer experience across various industrial sectors (food & beverage, oil & gas, chemical manufacturing).
Key Responsibilities
Sales Leadership & Team Management
Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing sales team, setting clear goals and performance expectations.
Provide ongoing coaching and performance reviews to support professional growth and ensure alignment with company objectives.
Monitor individual and team sales metrics to identify trends, areas for improvement, and best practices.
Strategic Sales Planning
Develop and implement regional sales strategies to meet or exceed revenue targets for wastewater treatment solutions.
Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and customer needs to inform strategic decision-making.
Collaborate with senior management to establish sales goals, budgets, and forecasts.
Business Development & Key Account Management
Identify and cultivate new business opportunities in target industries (food & beverage, oil & gas, chemical manufacturing).
Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers, ensuring a solid pipeline of prospects and repeat business.
Negotiate pricing, contract terms, and conditions to secure profitable sales agreements.
Technical Consultation
Serve as a subject matter expert on MBR processes and other wastewater treatment technologies, guiding sales team members and clients.
Partner with engineering and process teams to design customized solutions that address specific client challenges.
Oversee the preparation of technical presentations, proposals, and demonstrations to highlight product benefits.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Coordinate with internal teams-including engineering, project management, and operations-to ensure successful project execution and customer satisfaction.
Provide market feedback to product development and marketing teams to drive continuous improvement and innovation.
Oversee project timelines, deliverables, and budgets within the sales scope.
Reporting & Analytics
Manage regional sales activities and maintain accurate pipeline data using CRM tools.
Prepare regular sales forecasts, performance reports, and market analyses for executive leadership.
Track KPIs to evaluate team performance, adjust tactics, and capitalize on growth opportunities.
Qualifications
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental), Chemistry, Business, or a related field is preferred.
Experience:
5+ years of successful industrial sales experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial or supervisory capacity.
Proven track record of driving sales growth and managing teams within the wastewater treatment or related environmental technology sector.
Technical Skills:
In-depth understanding of wastewater treatment processes, particularly membrane bioreactor (MBR) systems, chemical/physical treatment methods, and relevant regulations.
Proficiency in interpreting technical documents, including P&IDs, process diagrams, and equipment specs.
Soft Skills:
Strong leadership, communication, and motivational abilities to guide and develop a sales team.
Excellent presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Analytical mindset with the ability to convert market insights into actionable strategies.
Other Requirements:
Willingness to travel within the assigned region (up to 50% of the time) to support team members, visit clients, and attend industry events.
Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
