Job Summary
The Industrial Sales Manager will be responsible for driving sales and market penetration of advanced water and wastewater treatment solutions across industrial sectors. This individual will lead the sales process from prospecting to closing, ensuring that customers receive optimal products and services to meet their process water and waste management needs.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Strategy & Execution
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve and exceed revenue targets in key industrial markets (e.g., chemical, food & beverage, power, petrochemical, etc.).
- Conduct thorough market research to identify new business opportunities and monitor industry trends.
Customer Relationship Management
- Foster and maintain strong client relationships through regular visits, presentations, and communication to ensure high customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with prospective clients to understand their water and wastewater challenges, recommending appropriate solutions based on product portfolio.
Technical Consultation & Support
- Provide technical expertise on water and wastewater treatment technologies (e.g., clarification, filtration, biological treatment, dissolved air flotation).
- Work closely with engineering and project management teams to ensure proper system design and configuration for customer needs.
Contract Negotiation & Closing
- Lead contract negotiations including pricing, terms, and conditions to secure profitable and sustainable business.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders (finance, legal, operations) to finalize agreements.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with the product development team to share market insights and customer feedback, aiding in new product launches or upgrades.
- Collaborate with marketing to develop targeted campaigns, product collateral, and presentations to drive lead generation.
Performance Tracking & Reporting
- Maintain accurate sales forecasts and pipeline reporting, providing regular updates to leadership on progress toward objectives.
- Analyze sales metrics to refine strategies and optimize performance.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Business, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA or relevant technical discipline) is a plus.
- Experience:
- Minimum 5 years of sales experience, preferably in water treatment, wastewater treatment, or related process industries.
- Demonstrated track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets in industrial markets.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with typical treatment processes (mechanical, chemical, and biological) and equipment used in industrial water/wastewater applications.
- Communication & Negotiation: Strong interpersonal skills, adept at consultative selling, and experienced in managing complex sales cycles.
- Analytical & Problem-Solving: Ability to interpret technical data, understand customer requirements, and translate them into tailored solutions.
- Travel: Willingness to travel extensively to meet clients, visit project sites, and attend industry events as needed.
