We are seeking an experienced Technology Systems Designer to contribute to the design and development of Telecommunications, Security, and Audio-Visual (A/V) systems for a variety of building projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and the ability to collaborate within multi-disciplinary teams to produce high-quality construction documents.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the technical day-to-day design of Telecommunications, Security, and A/V systems under the guidance of senior staff.
- Coordinate and prepare schematic design, design development, and construction documents with a focus on technology requirements.
- Develop expertise in the latest design software, including Revit and BIM modeling.
- Conduct on-site condition surveys to inform project requirements.
- Review and provide feedback on contractor submittals.
- Manage time effectively across multiple design projects, ensuring timely and high-quality deliverables.
- Utilize innovative methodologies and technology to develop cutting-edge building design solutions.
Qualifications:
- Associate's degree or equivalent in Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, or Telecommunications Engineering required.
- Candidates with 5+ years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in installation, maintenance, design, and specification of technology systems (Telecom, Security, A/V), preferably in sectors such as government, healthcare, higher education, and science & technology.
- RCDD certification required.
- Strong understanding of inside-plant (ISP) and outside-plant (OSP) telecommunications design.
- Occasional travel (<5%) may be required for cross-office collaboration and on-site client engagement.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certifications such as BICSI RCDD, Avixa CTS or CTS-D, and ASIS PSP are highly desirable.
