We are currently working closely with a leading engineering consultancy specialising in the mining, environmental and water resource management space. Due to recent project success the company is expanding their offices in WA, QLD and NSW and looking for a Senior to Principal Hydrogeologist. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the assessment, development, and management of groundwater resources. This position involves both fieldwork and office-based tasks, including project management, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement. Please see further details on the role below.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed hydrogeological investigations and assessments.
- Develop and implement groundwater monitoring programs.
- Analyze and interpret hydrogeological data using advanced modeling software.
- Provide technical advice and support on water resource management and protection.
- Manage and oversee hydrogeological projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop integrated solutions.
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
- Mentor and train junior hydrogeologists and other team members.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in hydrogeology or a related field1.
- Proficiency in hydrogeological modeling software (e.g., MODFLOW, AQTESOLV).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with project management and stakeholder engagement.
- Knowledge of environmental regulations and standards.
