Head of Business Development - Carbon - Indonesia/Philippines/Malaysia
Our client is seeking a dynamic and strategic Head of Business Development to lead their global business expansion and drive commercial growth. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in identifying new business opportunities, fostering strategic partnerships, and maximizing revenue generation. As the Head of Business Development, you will lead a team of professionals, develop innovative market strategies, and represent our client in key industry events and negotiations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to drive revenue growth and market expansion.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in carbon credit origination, renewable energy projects, and environmental market solutions.
- Lead negotiations and establish strategic partnerships with clients, governments, NGOs, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop innovative products and services that meet market demand and align with sustainability goals.
- Drive the development of competitive proposals, presentations, and bids to secure new contracts and projects.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, market gaps, and growth opportunities.
- Manage the end-to-end business development process, from lead generation to contract negotiation and closure.
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of commercial and business development professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders to ensure customer satisfaction and long-term partnerships.
- Monitor and report on market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to inform strategic decision-making
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Environmental Sciences, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven track record of success in business development roles, preferably within the environmental, sustainability, or renewable energy sectors.
- Deep understanding of carbon markets, carbon credit origination, renewable energy projects, and environmental finance.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to identify and capitalize on market opportunities.
- Excellent negotiation skills with a successful track record of closing deals and forming strategic partnerships.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including managing teams and driving business growth.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to develop and implement innovative business development strategies.
- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on achieving and exceeding targets and objectives.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to analyze market data and trends.
Desirable Skills:
- Experience working in international markets and managing global business development initiatives.
- Knowledge of regulatory frameworks related to carbon markets, renewable energy, and sustainability.
- Familiarity with project finance, investment structures, and financial modeling.
- Proficiency in languages other than English is a plus.
- Membership in relevant industry associations and networks
