Position Overview: As a Geotechnical Seller Doer, you will play a crucial role in expanding the geotechnical engineering services and client base in the Austin area. You will be responsible for driving business development initiatives, fostering client relationships, and leading geotechnical projects from inception to completion. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, sales acumen, and leadership skills to effectively grow our presence in the market.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the Houston area within the geotechnical engineering sector.
- Develop and maintain strategic partnerships with clients, consultants, contractors, and relevant stakeholders.
- Lead client meetings, presentations, and proposals to effectively showcase our capabilities and secure new projects.
- Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to capitalize on emerging opportunities.
Project Management:
- Oversee the execution of geotechnical projects, ensuring adherence to quality standards, budgetary constraints, and project timelines.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including engineers, scientists, and technicians, to deliver comprehensive solutions that meet client objectives.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff members, fostering their professional development and growth.
- Conduct site visits, investigations, and assessments to gather pertinent data and assess project requirements firsthand.
Client Relationship Management:
- Cultivate long-term relationships with existing clients through regular communication, follow-ups, and client satisfaction surveys.
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, offering innovative solutions, technical expertise, and exceptional customer service.
- Address client inquiries, concerns, and feedback in a timely and professional manner, ensuring client expectations are consistently met or exceeded.
- Proactively identify opportunities to upsell additional services and expand our scope of work with existing clients.
Marketing and Branding:
- Contribute to the development of marketing materials, case studies, white papers, and technical articles to promote our geotechnical capabilities and thought leadership.
- Represent the company at industry conferences, seminars, and networking events to enhance our visibility and reputation in the market.
- Leverage digital marketing channels, including social media platforms and online forums, to engage with potential clients and showcase our expertise.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Texas.
- Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering, including business development and project management roles.
- Proven track record of successfully identifying and winning geotechnical projects in the Houston market.
- Strong technical proficiency in geotechnical analysis, soil mechanics, foundation design, and construction materials testing.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders at all levels.
- Strategic mindset with a results-oriented approach to achieving business objectives and driving revenue growth.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
