Job Opportunity: Geotechnical Engineer (Tampa, FL)

We are looking for a mid-level Geotechnical Engineer with a background in transportation and FDOT (Florida Department of Transportation) experience. This role offers the chance to work on diverse geotechnical and forensic engineering projects in FDOT District 1 and District 7, including foundation design, site assessments, subsurface remediation, and construction materials testing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Geotechnical Services: Foundation design (shallow and deep), embankment design, soil improvement, and subsurface analysis for pond and pavement projects.
- Materials Engineering: Observe and assess construction quality, including vibration monitoring, structural evaluations, and inspection of construction materials.
- Client Relationship Building: Market geotechnical services to civil engineering firms and prime contractors; build connections to support project wins and team integration.
Qualifications:
- FDOT Knowledge: Familiar with FDOT guidelines, project specifications, and licensing requirements. Direct experience with FDOT pre-qualification processes is a plus.
- Transportation Experience: Background in transportation projects, with the ability to market geotechnical services to civil firms and transportation primes.
- Drilled Shaft Expertise: Experience in drilled shaft engineering is highly desired but not required.
