Position Summary: As the Geotechnical Department Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of the geotechnical department's operations. You will play a key role in project management, client relations, and team leadership. The successful candidate will have a strong technical background in geotechnical engineering, excellent communication skills, and a proven track record of successfully managing geotechnical projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
- Manage and oversee geotechnical projects from inception to completion, ensuring high-quality deliverables within budget and timeline constraints.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate geotechnical considerations into overall project plans.
Client Relations:
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and providing geotechnical solutions that exceed expectations.
- Identify business development opportunities and contribute to the growth of the geotechnical department.
Team Leadership:
- Lead and mentor a team of geotechnical engineers and technicians, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Provide technical guidance and support to team members, promoting professional development.
Technical Expertise:
- Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in geotechnical engineering.
- Ensure that the geotechnical team is using the latest technologies and methodologies in their work.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on Geotechnical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of Texas.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in geotechnical engineering, with a proven track record of successful project management.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
