Position Overview: This organization specializes in providing tailored solutions for energy conservation, water treatment, and wastewater management to minimize water consumption and environmental impact. Operating primarily in the food and beverage, industrial laundry, and concrete sectors across North America, the company manufactures integrated systems and offers ongoing customer support through field services and replacement parts.
The General Manager (GM) will be responsible for managing all financial aspects of the business, including comprehensive P&L oversight for orders, revenues, cash flow, working capital, and operating income. The GM will also spearhead the formulation and execution of strategies to drive growth, revenue, and profitability. The role requires leadership of both commercial and technical teams to achieve agreed-upon growth objectives while enhancing production and engineering efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute strategies to acquire new business and sustain profitable revenue streams.
- Track business performance to ensure alignment with strategic goals, including revenue, cash flow, operating income, and financial outcomes.
- Lead growth initiatives by exploring new markets and increasing market penetration.
- Analyze industry trends and competitive landscapes to shape marketing and growth strategies.
- Supervise the creation and implementation of sales strategies and customer engagement efforts.
- Manage the M&A strategy, identifying potential acquisition opportunities to fuel business expansion.
- Drive transformation projects that align with business goals and improve customer satisfaction.
- Focus on talent acquisition, retention, and development to achieve sales and growth targets.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive product development roadmap to ensure high-quality and consistent outputs.
- Represent the organization at industry events and serve as the company's main spokesperson.
- Oversee financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, while monitoring performance metrics.
- Establish and track team performance indicators to gauge individual and organizational success.
- Assess and foster leadership growth within the team.
- Perform additional duties as necessary.
Required Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree is required, with a preference for an engineering background.
- Experience with Manufacturing Engineering
- An MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.
- At least 15 years of experience in technical, commercial, and business management roles, especially within industrial sectors.
- Proven leadership experience with full P&L responsibility and a history of driving global growth.
- Strong project and program management skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- In-depth knowledge of industrial M&A processes and integration.
- Demonstrated success in transforming or scaling businesses.
- Ability to lead independently and manage teams effectively.
