They are currently working on a significant offshore wind project in Taiwan, aiming to harness clean and sustainable energy to power communities. They are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Foundation Engineer to join their team and contribute to the successful execution of this groundbreaking project.
Job Description:
As a Foundation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in the design and construction of the offshore wind project's foundation systems. You will be responsible for ensuring the structural integrity, stability, and safety of the foundations supporting wind turbines and related infrastructure in the harsh offshore environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Foundation Design: Collaborate with the engineering team to develop innovative and cost-effective foundation designs for offshore wind turbines. This includes conducting geotechnical analyses, pile design, and structural analysis to ensure the foundations can withstand various environmental conditions.
Site Assessment: Conduct site-specific assessments to evaluate soil conditions, seabed characteristics, and other geotechnical parameters. Use this information to optimize foundation design and construction methodologies.
Regulatory Compliance: Stay up-to-date with local and international regulations, codes, and standards related to offshore wind foundation design. Ensure that all designs and construction methods comply with relevant guidelines and regulations.
Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks related to foundation design and construction. Develop mitigation strategies to minimize risks and ensure the project's success.
Technical Support: Provide technical support during the construction phase, working closely with contractors and subcontractors to ensure that foundation installation meets the project specifications and quality standards.
Collaboration: Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including geotechnical engineers, structural engineers, and environmental experts. Communicate and coordinate with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders as necessary.
Innovation: Explore and recommend new technologies and methodologies to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of offshore wind foundation systems.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in foundation design and geotechnical analysis, preferably in offshore wind projects.
- Familiarity with geotechnical software and analysis tools.
- Strong knowledge of international standards and regulations related to offshore wind energy.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel to project sites and work in challenging offshore environments.
