Job Description: They are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Forensic Structural Engineer to join the team in Orlando as an Office Lead. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural engineering, with a focus on forensic investigations, expert witness testimony, and depositions. This role includes mentoring and leading our expert witness division.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough forensic investigations of structural failures and damages.
- Analyze and interpret structural data to determine the cause and extent of failures.
- Prepare detailed reports and documentation to support findings.
- Provide expert witness testimony in legal proceedings and depositions.
- Mentor and lead the expert witness division, guiding junior engineers.
- Lead the office operations and ensure smooth workflow.
- Collaborate with legal teams, insurance companies, and other stakeholders.
- Stay current with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
- Develop business opportunities and maintain client relationships.
- Leverage a transferable book of business to support company growth.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Structural Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in forensic structural engineering.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with expert witness testimony and depositions is highly desirable.
- Leadership and mentoring experience preferred.
- Proven business development experience and a transferable book of business required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
