Job Description:
My client is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Forensic Structural Engineer to join their team in Dallas, Texas. The successful candidate will be responsible for investigating and analyzing structural failures, particularly those related to roofing systems, providing expert testimony, and developing solutions to prevent future failures. This role requires a strong understanding of engineering principles, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to communicate complex technical information effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough investigations of structural failures, with a focus on roofing systems, including site inspections, data collection, and analysis.
- Determine the root causes of structural failures and provide detailed reports with findings and recommendations.
- Collaborate with law enforcement, legal teams, and other professionals to provide expert testimony in legal cases involving structural failures.
- Develop and implement strategies to prevent future structural failures, including design improvements and material recommendations.
- Review and analyze construction documents, building codes, and industry standards to identify potential issues.
- Provide technical support and guidance to clients, including builders, manufacturers, insurance companies, and government agencies.
- Stay current with advancements in forensic engineering and related fields through continuous professional development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Texas or the ability to obtain one within a reasonable timeframe.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in structural engineering, with a focus on forensic investigations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency in engineering software and tools used for structural analysis and design.
