Seeking an experienced and skilled General Foreman to join our team and lead a dedicated crew on Dominion substation projects.
Job Description:
The General Foreman will be responsible for overseeing and managing a crew of skilled workers, ensuring that all projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in electrical construction, with a strong background in Dominion substations being a significant advantage.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, supervise, and motivate a crew of workers on Dominion substation construction and maintenance projects.
Ensure that all work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to company policies and industry regulations.
Plan, organize, and allocate resources effectively to meet project deadlines and specifications.
Monitor and track the progress of ongoing projects, making adjustments as necessary to stay on schedule.
Communicate effectively with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders to provide updates and resolve any issues.
Conduct daily safety meetings and ensure a strong safety culture on the job site.
Oversee the proper use and maintenance of tools and equipment.
Train and mentor crew members, ensuring they are knowledgeable in all aspects of substation construction and maintenance.
Maintain accurate records of labor, materials, and equipment usage.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a Foreman or in a leadership role in electrical construction, ideally with Dominion substation projects.
Strong knowledge of substation construction, electrical systems, and safety standards.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
OSHA certification or similar safety training is preferred.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience working on Dominion Energy substations or similar high-voltage electrical projects.
Knowledge of Dominion-specific procedures and safety requirements.
First Aid/CPR certification is a plus.
