Basic Function: The Field Service Representative - Commissioning will be responsible for startup, commissioning, troubleshooting, and initial operations integration in the field for wastewater treatment facilities. The role involves ensuring compliance with water quantity and quality standards, contributing to and documenting commissioning plans, and performing various technical tasks such as calibration, wiring tests, hydro testing, and configuration of equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Startup, commission, and troubleshoot processes, equipment, and controls.
- Ensure operational compliance with volume and quality specifications.
- Establish inventory of spare parts and chemicals.
- Consult with customer management and operation teams.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization at the site.
- Ensure the treatment system and ancillary equipment meet design specifications.
- Review and advise on technical documents for future facilities.
- Develop and revise operational protocols for new and existing sites.
- Collaborate with the Safety Team to ensure safe operations, including OSHA compliance.
- Verify and improve monitoring and measurement systems.
- Analyze data to evaluate system performance and compliance.
Typical Duties:
- Operate, configure, and calibrate equipment such as VFDs, sensors, chemical injection systems, and flowmeters.
- Conduct maintenance and calibration activities.
- Perform analytical testing for various water quality parameters.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
- Create and maintain site paperwork and provide technical summaries to customers.
- Utilize control systems to run the facility and respond to alarms.
- Participate in training and continuing education.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
- Ability to work independently in the field and manage competing priorities.
- Ability to travel 50-90+%.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in water or wastewater treatment operations.
- Experience with the operation and optimization of treatment plants.
- Experience reading technical documents.
- Understanding of MBR and RO unit maintenance and operation.
- Experience with automation systems.
- Basic understanding of industrial electrical and instrumentation design.
- Experience with laboratory equipment and data collection.
Desired Skills/Qualities:
- Knowledge of various treatment processes and equipment.
- Degree in Science/Engineering (STEM) or technical certificate.
- Experience with PLC control systems and programming.
- Licensed Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator or working towards a license.
- Self-motivated and adaptable to change.
- Ability to work alone and safely.
- Hands-on experience with industrial wastewater treatment facilities.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Proximity to a commercial airport.
