Federal Cx Senior Project Manager
Job Description:
The Federal Cx Senior Project Manager is responsible for overseeing projects of significant scope and complexity. This role primarily involves the design, analysis, and commissioning of mechanical systems. Key duties include planning and executing commissioning project plans, delivering quality products and services to clients promptly, managing project financials proactively, and serving as the main contact between the project team and the client. The Senior Project Manager also mentors junior Project Managers on their assignments. Ensuring projects are executed according to plan and achieving Total Project Success is crucial. Additionally, the Senior Project Manager leads business development efforts to secure new work in the Federal Market. This position requires travel to Germany, including both short-term and extended assignments. Candidates must be flexible with international travel arrangements and adaptable to changing project needs.
Essential Functions:
- Confirm project scope and requirements with clients and stakeholders, and communicate these to the project team.
- Identify necessary activities for the Cx team, schedule them, communicate schedule information to the team, and monitor manpower needs.
- Coordinate project team and contractor activities during design and construction phases.
- Organize, schedule, and attend meetings with contractors, clients, and the Cx team to discuss progress and resolve issues.
- Facilitate communication between the client and the project team, documenting important issues.
- Manage and/or prepare commissioning plans, including pre-functional checklists, functional performance tests, project training matrices, and other necessary documentation.
- Participate in planning and budgeting processes, including preparing monthly billing projections and budget metrics.
- Oversee project profitability by negotiating fees and contracts, ensuring timely and accurate invoicing, and monitoring accounts receivable.
- Prepare final commissioning reports documenting all activities.
- Act as a technical expert to support Cx activities, demonstrate competence to customers, and develop strategic plans for the Cx team.
- Anticipate and address issues affecting clients or project expectations, serving as a trusted advisor.
- Assist contractors in identifying causes of non-compliant equipment and system performance, performing necessary follow-up work and documentation.
- Conduct project site visits to investigate field conditions, monitor progress, and ensure conformance to design specifications, owner expectations, and building codes.
- Coordinate and conduct opposed season testing and warranty reviews.
- Verify collection, review, and forwarding of preventative maintenance materials and record documents for commissioned equipment and systems to the owner.
- Supervise job close-out processes to ensure documentation, lessons learned, and filings are complete.
- Assist management in training, mentoring, and evaluating less experienced colleagues.
- Prepare and implement proactive Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) plans for projects.
- Identify, negotiate, and administer fees for additional services.
- Schedule work, communicate schedule information to the project team, and monitor manpower requirements.
- Generate detailed service line proposals and coordinate with the Federal Market regarding proper format and structure for specific clients.

- Familiarity with engineering disciplines commonly commissioned.
