We are looking for a dynamic and experienced Engineering Manager to lead an engineering team based in Singapore, focusing on solar and Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects across the Asia-Pacific region to join our client. This role is essential for managing project execution, ensuring technical excellence, and promoting innovation in renewable energy solutions. The position involves approximately 50% travel to project sites within the region.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
System Design:
Design and optimize solar energy systems, including photovoltaic (PV) layouts, electrical schematics, and structural components.
Develop Bill of Quantities (BOQ) for Request for Quotation (RFQ) based on engineering drawings.
Analyze fault currents and conduct dynamic simulations for power system studies.
Use design tools like AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, eTap, or DIgSILENT PowerFactory to produce accurate engineering models.
Manage the design, development, and implementation of solar and BESS projects, ensuring timely approval of engineering documents to avoid project delays.
Technical Evaluation:
Perform site evaluations and feasibility studies to determine project viability.
Conduct energy yield assessments and simulations to optimize system performance and cost-efficiency.
Approve engineering designs, specifications, and technical documents in line with regional and international standards.
Compliance and Standards:
Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, safety standards, and environmental regulations.
Prepare and submit necessary documentation for regulatory approvals.
Provide technical oversight to engineering teams, ensuring adherence to best practices and standards.
Collaboration and Communication:
Work closely with contractors, authorities, and cross-functional teams to ensure project alignment.
Maintain clear and consistent communication with all stakeholders throughout project lifecycles.
Innovation and Planning:
Lead efforts to innovate engineering processes and technologies for solar and BESS projects.
Assist in strategic planning, resource allocation, and project management.
Quality Control:
Establish and maintain quality assurance processes for all projects.
Conduct on-site inspections to ensure compliance with approved designs and verify final drawings.
Perform regular audits and project reviews to identify improvement areas.
Implement Quality Management Systems effectively.
Requirements:
Demonstrated experience in leading solar and BESS projects in the APAC region.
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in engineering management, emphasizing
renewable energy sectors, particularly solar, wind, and Battery Energy Storage Systems
(BESS). Proficient in design software including AutoCAD, PVsyst, Helioscope, eTap, or DIgSILENT PowerFactory.
In-depth knowledge of power system studies and dynamic simulations.
Familiarity with local and international engineering standards.
Excellent leadership, project management, and communication abilities.
