A leading water specialist is seeking an Engineering Manager. The candidate will oversee the entire engineering process, manage teams and third-party vendors, support senior management, and lead R&D efforts. They will ensure project accuracy, foster cross-department collaboration, manage budgets, and recruit talent
Job Responsibilities:
- Oversee the entire engineering process from basic design to detailed engineering during the tender phase through to project handover.
- Identify and address the need for training and development within the engineering team.
- Manage third-party engineering vendors, ensuring their alignment with project goals.
- Provide technical support to senior management for engineering and technical decision-making.
- Lead, build, and manage high-performing engineering teams.
- Provide clear, actionable instructions to the engineering team for effective project execution.
- Drive research and development initiatives that result in innovative designs, products, and processes.
- Review and verify the technical accuracy of the team's work, taking full responsibility for design and calculations.
- Coordinate with other department managers and staff to ensure alignment and project success.
- Promote knowledge sharing and collaboration both within and across teams.
- Serve as a liaison between engineering, management, and other departments to ensure shared goals and priorities.
- Communicate project updates, potential risks, and challenges to stakeholders and leadership effectively.
- Advocate for the engineering team's needs, achievements, and development within the organization.
- Assist in budget planning and resource allocation for engineering projects.
- Lead recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts to attract top engineering talent.
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience in Water and Wastewater Treatment, with preferred experience in Onshore and Offshore Oil & Gas.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in the relevant industry.
- Strong analytical skills for evaluating complex information and solving intricate problems.
- Effective communication skills for managing staff and collaborating with other management teams.
- Detail-oriented, able to identify minor errors that could lead to significant issues.
- Capable of guiding the team through necessary engineering and process work.
- Excellent organizational skills and stakeholder management skills.
