One of the leading Renewable Energy Developers who are involved with Wind, Solar, BESS and most recently Green Hydrogen are looking for an Engineering Delivery Manager to focus on things such as SOW's. This person will be responsible for leading the engineering project management effort, which also includes a team of project managers.
Engineering Delivery Manager Requirements:
- Lead correspondence for development and construction teams and activities between them and the engineering resources throughout the project life cycles
- Lead liaison for pre-construction and construction for all engineering statements of work (SOW's). Ensuring the alignment of individual and team objectives
- Oversee and support the assistant and Engineering Project Managers during the project life-cycle
- Manages and foster the professional growth and development of the team
- Regularly deliver feedback on performance and goal progress to your direct reports
- Work alongside with Assistant/Engineering Project Managers on assigned projects which could include:
- EPC
- Bid-Build
- Major Bids
- Conduct reviews of RFP and other Contract documents and examples to identify key items for engineering and provide engineering feedback in order to incorporate that feedback into the final versions
- Work alongside the schedulers and the scheduling department and pre-construction to ensure all engineering deliverables can be met in a timely manor
- Pin-point scope, develops schedules, and coordinates all of the engineering and design activities for:
- Major bid/RFP Opportunities
- EPC construction projects
- Create and communicate and oversee the project engineering budget, schedule and scope expectations
- Establish and update Request for Information (RFI) register with the document control system, specifically Procore
- Conduct design reviews provided by Engineer of Record for compliance and technical specifications/requirements/scope of work
- Identify and develop SOW to be reviewed in a peer setting by the Engineer of Record designs with the engineering team
- Look out for continuous improvement opportunities for value engineering and efficiency's when it comes to design
- Establish and assess potential risks, contract disputes and exclusions
- Lead the handovers to project teams when projects are won or transition to late-stage development design and engineering and or construction phase
- Work hand in hand with external engineers to coordinate services on projects
- Will be required to operate company vehicles from time to time for business at project sites and meetings
- Adheres to the company handbook, Code of Conduct, established company processes and procedures
- Establish and lead all Kick-off meetings
- Work alongside project management to establish job codes/ work breakdown structure (WBS) and Project creation wizard (create the folder structure and work order) for the design review meetings
- Help to set up document control system (Procore) with the construction project coordinator
- Maintenance of Upkeep of design change log for periodic distribution to the Project Manager
- Help with the hiring and team selection to fill positions
- Regularly communicate with the team on goals, accomplishments, and information on policies
Engineering Delivery Manager Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Construction Management, Civil, Structural Mechanical or Electrical Engineering REQUIRED
- If located outside of Montreal/Quebec, travel will be 25-35% but willing to entertain individuals who live in neighboring provinces in Canada)
- Must be bilingual in French and English
- Ideally looking for someone with Renewables in any shape or form/Power Generation Experience
- Project Management or PE Certification is Preferred
- Master's Degree in Project Management, Business Administration, or Similar is PREFERRED
- 5+ years of cumulative engineering experience with relevant renewable energy experience is required
- 1+ years of demonstrated leadership and portfolio management is preferred
- Ability to travel between 5-15% (
- Valid Driver's License is REQUIRED
