Summary
The Engineer II will support the development and installation of energy conservation and renewable energy projects for large-scale public sector clients. Working in a dynamic, team-based environment under the direction of a Project Manager and supervisor, the Engineer II will be responsible for designing Energy Conservation and Renewable Energy Measures (ECM), conducting site audits, specifying equipment, and performing savings calculations. The role involves supporting projects from initial development through post-construction, focusing on energy efficiency and renewable generation installations to enhance sustainability, cost savings, and service improvements.
Location: Oakland, CA - hybrid
Reporting to: Director of Project Management
Responsibilities:
- Design Energy Conservation and Renewable Energy Measures (ECM) for public sector projects
- Conduct site audits to assess project viability and identify energy-saving opportunities
- Specify equipment and perform savings calculations to support project development and construction
- Ensure compliance with national and California electric codes for renewable energy installations
- Manage multiple projects from early development through post-construction
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant work experience
- Proficiency in utility rate structures, including TOU and demand charges
- Experience with solar photovoltaic systems and energy savings measures
- Experienced with PVSyst or Helioscope, AutoCAD
