We are seeking a motivated Electrical Field Service Technician with experience in control panel building and field service support to join our team. In this role, you will be an integral part of our service operation, providing expert electrical and technical services for our ultrapure water systems.
Position Summary
The Electrical Field Service Technician will be responsible for building, installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical control panels and associated field wiring for ultrapure water systems. You will work closely with engineering and project management teams to ensure safe and accurate installation. In addition, you'll perform on-site service and troubleshooting to optimize system performance and ensure client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Control Panel Assembly
Wire and assemble control panels according to detailed schematics, diagrams, and written specifications.
Ensure that all panels comply with local and national electrical codes (e.g., NEC).
Maintain high-quality workmanship for reliability, safety, and aesthetic finish.
Field Service and Maintenance
Perform on-site installation, start-up, and commissioning of ultrapure water systems.
Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues, instrumentation faults, and PLC controls.
Conduct preventative maintenance, calibration, and system checks to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
Provide emergency service support and technical assistance to clients as needed.
Technical Documentation and Reporting
Interpret and update electrical drawings, P&IDs, and wiring schematics.
Document service activities, repair work performed, and parts used in a clear and timely manner.
Communicate effectively with the service manager or project manager regarding project status, equipment issues, and proposed solutions.
Compliance and Safety
Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as industry standards and regulations.
Observe lockout/tagout procedures and other required safety measures.
Perform quality checks and inspections to ensure code compliance and customer satisfaction.
Collaboration and Customer Support
Collaborate with mechanical, process, and engineering teams to provide complete system solutions.
Train customers on safe operation and routine maintenance of equipment.
Foster positive, professional relationships with customers, providing excellent service and support.
Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma or GED required; associate degree or vocational training in electrical technology or related field preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience in control panel building, industrial wiring, or field service electrical work.
Familiarity with ultrapure water systems, water treatment equipment, or similar process systems is highly desirable.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and P&IDs.
Experience with PLC programming/troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar) is a plus.
Knowledge of NEC and other relevant electrical codes and standards.
Soft Skills:

Licenses/Certifications:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Electrical journeyman license or equivalent (where applicable) preferred.

Capable of working in industrial or commercial environments (standing, bending, kneeling).
Willingness to travel to customer sites, including occasional overnight travel.
