Position Overview:
As the Electrical Permitting and Compliance Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all electrical systems and projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations. You will work closely with regulatory agencies and internal teams to manage permit applications, obtain necessary approvals, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Regulatory Agency Interaction: Build and maintain strong relationships with regulatory agencies (Authorities Having Jurisdiction - AHJ) to ensure smooth project approvals.
- Permit Management: Organize, submit, and track electrical permit applications for various projects, ensuring all requirements are met in a timely manner.
- Documentation & Reporting: Receive, review, and prepare Inspection Follow-up Plans (IFPs), ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date.
- Compliance Oversight: Monitor and ensure electrical projects are in compliance with all regulatory codes, environmental guidelines, and safety standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, contractors, engineers, and local authorities to facilitate smooth project progression.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in environmental compliance, permitting, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes and permitting processes (experience with National Electrical Code and local/state electrical codes preferred).
- Experience working with regulatory agencies (AHJ) and managing permit applications.
- Excellent organization and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective relationship-building and reporting.
- Ability to review and prepare documentation, including IFPs, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
