Electrical Estimator

- Requirements: Must have either Transmission, Distribution or Substation estimating experience.
Seeking a skilled and experienced Transmission Substation and Distribution Electrical Estimator. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical estimation for transmission substations and distribution projects, with a focus on accuracy, detail, and efficiency. This role is essential in supporting our project management teams by providing reliable cost estimates that drive our electrical infrastructure initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for transmission substations and distribution projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and scope of work to develop comprehensive estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field personnel to gather necessary information for accurate estimations.
- Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and identify potential challenges.
- Maintain and update estimating databases, including labor rates, material costs, and productivity metrics.
- Develop and manage bid packages and proposals, ensuring compliance with all client requirements and specifications.
- Participate in the value engineering process to identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
- Monitor project budgets and expenditures, providing insights for cost control and forecasting.
- Stay current with industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to electrical estimation and project execution.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior estimators and support their professional development.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in estimating for transmission substations and distribution electrical projects.
- Strong knowledge of electrical construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and clients.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Professional certification is a plus.
