We are seeking an Electrical Engineer I for our multi-disciplined Healthcare/Sciences Department.
Position Summary:
Support senior engineers in designing electrical systems for various clients. Coordinate with the design team and Project Manager to execute project objectives efficiently. This hybrid position requires a minimum of 3 days per week in our Voorhees, NJ office.
Responsibilities:
- Perform engineering calculations, prepare single line diagrams, size electrical components and equipment, conduct short circuit analysis, and prepare technical specifications.
- Review projects to ensure standards and requirements align with client needs and project budgets.
- Design, layout, and check electrical systems drawings for technical correctness using applicable standards and codes.
- Conduct site surveys, energy audits, attend project meetings, and provide field construction support.
- Coordinate with facility owners and architects, ensuring high levels of responsiveness and communication.
- Conduct shop drawing reviews and construction administration.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of local, state, and national code requirements (IEEE, NFPA, FGI Guidelines).
- Experience with lighting and electrical load analysis software.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit.
- Knowledge of USGBC LEED Rating system is a plus.
- Strong time management skills, comfortable with deadlines and transitions.
- Effective communication skills for complex ideas, technical writing, and documentation.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Education and Experience:
- BS in Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in designing electrical systems for critical care and/or laboratory facilities.
- Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD, Revit, and Building Information Modeling (BIM).
- Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred or working towards licensure.
