Title: Electrical Discipline Lead
Location: Fort Worth (Hybrid Position)
Salary: $150,000+
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Prepare design of electrical and interior/exterior lighting systems, design documents, plans and specifications.
- Guide others in the preparation of programming documents, schematic design, and design development and construction documents.
- Manage multiple electrical engineering designs of new construction and renovation projects.
- Prepare designs, and handle design review and quality control.
- Prepare electrical construction specifications, budgets, schedules and work plans for projects.
- Researches building codes and standards to determine essential design requirements of the projects.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other staff members, utility representatives, contractors, and consultants and clients.
- Perform electrical system planning including electric distribution layouts, specifications of wiring systems, and analysis of loads.
- Calculate lighting illumination levels and designs lighting layouts for both interior and exterior lighting projects.
- Perform electrical studies including voltage drop/dip, short circuit and overcurrent coordination studies.
- Prepare various technical reports for engineering studies.
- Coordinate with other disciplines, utility companies, consulting engineers, architects, and contractors to maximize efficiency and effectiveness in project design.
- Update Project Managers on work progress, and address potential project problems.
- Attend meetings, conferences, trainings to stay current on trade principles, practices and new developments.
- Understanding of LEED requirements and LEED AP preferred
- Experience with high-performance sustainable systems design with a holistic integrated building systems approach
Qualifications:
- Texas Professional PE Registration
- B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 10-15 years' electrical engineering design experience
- Experience performing short circuit, voltage drop, protective device coordination
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit BIM, SKM Powertools, Easypower and AGi32 lighting analysis or equivalent
- nowledge of NEC, NFPA 101
- Comprehensive knowledge of the theory, principles and practices of electrical engineering and electrical equipment operation
- Thorough knowledge of the overall medium- and low-voltage electrical power and distribution systems
- Thorough knowledge of building industry codes and standards
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Proven ability to strategically pursue and win new work and clients that fit business plan
- Excellent written and verbal communication
