Job Summary:
We are looking for a skilled EIA and Permit Manager to lead the environmental impact assessment (EIA) processes and manage permitting for offshore wind projects in Taiwan. This role is crucial in ensuring compliance with local regulations and environmental standards while facilitating the successful development of renewable energy initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:
Environmental Impact Assessments:
- Lead the preparation and submission of comprehensive EIA reports in accordance with Taiwanese regulations.
- Coordinate with environmental consultants and stakeholders to gather necessary data and insights.
Permitting Management:
- Oversee the permitting process for offshore wind projects, ensuring all necessary approvals are obtained in a timely manner.
- Liaise with government agencies, local authorities, and other stakeholders to facilitate smooth permitting processes.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay updated on local, regional, and national environmental regulations and policies affecting offshore wind projects.
- Ensure all project activities comply with environmental laws and standards.
Environment Engagement:
- Implement a robust monitoring program to track environmental impacts during construction and operation. Regularly report findings to stakeholders and regulatory bodies to maintain transparency.
- Develop and implement effective mitigation measures to minimize adverse environmental impacts.
Project Coordination:
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate environmental considerations into project planning and execution.
- Monitor project progress and ensure adherence to environmental commitments.
Reporting and Documentation:
- Maintain accurate records of EIA processes, permits, and compliance activities.
- Prepare and present reports to management and regulatory bodies as required.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in environmental impact assessment and permitting, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
Language Skills:
- Proficiency in Mandarin and English is required.
Certifications:
- Relevant environmental certifications are advantageous.
Skills:
- Strong understanding of EIA processes and environmental regulations in Taiwan.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
