The Director of Transportation Engineering will be responsible for:
- Leading and coordinating design and implementation teams, ensuring the timely and efficient execution of design tasks by qualified designers.
- Collaborating with local authorities, stakeholders, and clients to ensure seamless project execution.
- Assisting in the development of project proposals, scope definition, and budget estimations tailored to roadway and highway infrastructure needs.
- Monitoring project progress, budgets, and timelines to ensure efficient and cost-effective completion while meeting transportation and regulatory requirements.
- Providing technical guidance and mentorship to engineering staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
The ideal candidate for the Director of Transportation Engineering position should possess the following qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in Michigan.
- Minimum of 15 years of experience in project management focused on roadway/highway.
- Proficient in MicroStation and OpenRoads to mentor/guide design engineers.
- Oversight experience of junior/mid-level engineers.
