As a multi-disciplinary firm, my client provides a full range of services within Land Development to a host of clients throughout New Jersey within the commercial, industrial, renewable, and residential markets.
They are currently hiring for a Director of Land Development to step in, providing technical and managerial expertise to manage existing work, lead a production team and win additional land development work. The successful candidate will have a hunter mentality with the technical expertise to supplement their vision of continuous growth. The person will lead business development efforts with local municipalities, architects and developers, growing and nurturing the relationships with existing and new clients.
Their main way of sourcing work is through winning projects from larger players in the area that only focus on the large playing projects and neglect the needs of their clients with projects not deemed lucrative enough. Due to my clients size they can treat their clients and projects with the necessary energy and respect needed to finish all projects from cradle to grave with the quality expected of a seasoned firm.
Additional responsibilities will include training and mentoring of Project Managers and Design Engineers, working directly with clients to support their vision, key stakeholder engagement, public speaking, and financial management for projects. This role will report directly into the president of the company with direct training and supervision from them, to facilitate their growth into the director level position and what will be expected.
Qualifications
- Bachelors in Civil Engineering, master's degree is a plus
- Professional Engineering Certification in New Jersey
- Demonstrated department leading experience within New Jersey
- Proven experience in designing commercial, industrial, renewable, and commercial land development projects
- Strong work ethic with an entrepreneurial spirit
- Hands on experience in project management, business development and staff mentoring and training
- Current client base in New Jersey is a plus
