Director, Project Development
A leading company in the development, acquisition, and operation of solar and energy storage systems is seeking a Project Development Director.
Job Summary: The Project Development Director will support the objective of developing and growing a portfolio of solar and energy storage projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and grow a portfolio of solar and energy storage projects.
- Demonstrate success in siting and permitting utility-scale solar and storage facilities.
- Manage internal and external resources to develop projects.
- Structure projects and manage development through financial close/start of construction.
- Maintain an overview of the business and competitive environment.
- Effectively manage and develop teams.
- Participate in special projects as needed.
- Travel to project sites as required.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in engineering, environmental science, land use planning, business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in renewable project development, preferably in solar and/or storage, or 5-10 years in real estate development, environmental consulting, or engineering management.
- Demonstrated analytical skills and commercial savvy.
- Independent work ethic and demonstrated leadership ability.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
- Proficiency in computer skills (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, Google Earth, Adobe, etc.).
- Ability to work in an entrepreneurial organization.
- Experience in real estate, public speaking, permitting, market assessment, and negotiating commercial agreements.
