The Director of Development will be responsible for...
- Contributing to the company's objective of expanding and managing a portfolio of renewable energy generation assets.
- Demonstrating proficiency in identifying suitable sites and obtaining permits for utility-scale solar and/or wind energy projects.
- Coordinating internal and external resources (engineering, finance, legal, environmental, etc.) to ensure successful project development.
- Developing project structures and oversee development activities until financial closure and commencement of construction.
- Staying abreast of relevant business and competitive landscapes, including regulatory and environmental policies.
- Efficiently leading and nurturing teams and subordinates.
- Participating in special initiatives as required.
- On-site presence on projects in PJM and NYISO.
- Travel to project sites will be necessary.
The Qualifications for this role include:
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in engineering, environmental science, land use planning, business, or a related field.
- Experience in developing large-scale infrastructure projects in the energy sector, with at least 4 years' involvement in renewable project development, preferably in solar and/or wind, or 5-10 years in real estate development, environmental consulting, or engineering management for infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated analytical capabilities and business acumen.
- Self-driven work ethic and proven leadership skills, particularly in a development capacity overseeing multiple projects/transactions concurrently.
- Strong communication and negotiation abilities, with a knack for building relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership.
- Proficiency in various computer applications (Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, Google Earth, Adobe, etc.).
- Adaptability to an entrepreneurial work environment.
- Intermediate-level expertise in real estate, public speaking, permitting, market analysis, contractual negotiations, and commercial agreements.
