Director of Business Development - Renewable Energy
We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Business Development for a rapidly growing player in the renewable energy sector. This senior leadership position is ideal for a seasoned deal originator and closer who excels at pursuing and finalizing project acquisitions in key energy markets across the U.S.
The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of successfully originating and negotiating Membership Interest Purchase Agreements (MIPAs) and strategic partnerships. They will bring an entrepreneurial drive, a deep understanding of the energy sector, and exceptional communication skills to the table. Key Responsibilities:
- Originate, negotiate, and close power purchase agreements.
- Lead acquisition origination and market entry strategies.
- Oversee contract negotiations, due diligence, and project execution, balancing internal and external stakeholders.
- Establish and cultivate impactful relationships with decision-makers at developers of all sizes.
- Own and develop a customer contact strategy to identify and target key accounts effectively.
- Author and deliver professional presentations and proposals with deep subject matter expertise.
- Continuously gather market intelligence and stay ahead of industry trends.
- Manage and coordinate multiple opportunities, working seamlessly with other team members.
Ideal Candidate Requirements:
- 5+ years of successful experience in business development and M&A.
- Strong business development acumen with a proven track record of negotiating and closing successful deals.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and time-sensitive issue resolution skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.
- Sophisticated understanding of the environmental and utility regulatory landscape.
