A leading renewable energy company is currently seeking a Director of Accounting to join the finance team. This growing company has over 300 MW in development of solar projects, as well as battery storage and hydrogen plants across the country. The ideal candidate will possess a solid foundation in tasks such as preparing and reviewing monthly financial reports, executing month-end closing procedures, conducting external audits, and performing account reconciliations across diverse entities.
The key responsibilities of this position will include:
- Direct all financial operations, encompassing accounting, budgeting, and reporting.
- Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of financial statements and reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Guarantee compliance with financial regulations and standards, staying updated on changes in financial regulations and accounting standards, particularly those specific to the renewable energy industry.
- Provide strategic recommendations to the CEO/President and members of the executive management team.
- Lead and guide the accounting team, including responsibilities such as hiring, training, and mentoring staff, as well as overseeing their daily activities and professional development.
- Manage relationships with investors, banks, and other financial partners. Oversee fund management, including capital investments, loans, and tax equity financing specific to renewable energy projects.
- Oversee tax planning and compliance, ensuring adherence to tax regulations.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
- CPA (Certified Public Accountant) or a similar certification is highly preferred.
- Extensive experience in accounting, preferably in the renewable energy sector or a related industry. Experience in a publicly traded company can be advantageous.
- Demonstrated strong leadership and team management skills, with experience managing a team or special projects.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team management and external relations.
- Knowledge of Renewable Energy Sector:
- High proficiency in various ERP software and the ability to implement new systems as required.
