Job Summary:
A leading architecture and engineering consulting firm is seeking a dynamic and experienced Director to lead its New York City office. This senior-level leadership role is responsible for overseeing Division Managers, ensuring the delivery of high-quality services, fostering client relationships, and providing strategic direction. The Director will be accountable for ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and in compliance with contract requirements, industry regulations, and company standards.
Responsibilities:
Project Oversight and Technical Leadership
Manage internal project meetings, ensuring clear communication and collaboration.
Monitor project schedules and adherence to timelines and budgets.
Conduct on-site inspections, documenting conditions, performing field testing, and ensuring compliance.
Analyze investigation reports, bid documents, and technical specifications.
Provide expert technical guidance during design and construction phases.
Conduct forensic inspections, oversee testing activities, and ensure data accuracy.
Generate field and expert reports, offering in-depth analysis and recommendations.
Present expert opinions in mediations and depositions.
Client Relations and Business Development
Represent the firm in mediations, collaborating with legal teams.
Develop and maintain strong client and industry relationships.
Identify business growth opportunities, expanding regional and market presence.
Actively engage in industry networking, events, and marketing initiatives.
Lead client meetings, ensuring satisfaction and alignment with project goals.
Internal Team Leadership and Development
Develop and execute long-term strategic plans with executive leadership.
Mentor and guide senior leaders, fostering professional growth.
Oversee department goals, budgets, and performance metrics.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry regulations.
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration between departments to enhance operational efficiency.
Recruit, develop, and retain top talent within the NYC office.
Conduct performance evaluations and recommend career development initiatives.
Supervisory Responsibilities
Direct oversight of Division Managers and NYC-based staff.
Recommend promotions, performance improvement plans, and hiring decisions.
Conduct interviews and annual performance reviews.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Architecture (MBA preferred).
Minimum 10+ years of experience in Building Envelope Restoration/Local Law 11.
Certifications and Licenses:
Professional Engineer (PE) or Registered Architect (RA) license required.
Qualified Exterior Wall Inspector (QEWI) certification (preferred).
OSHA-30 Certification (New York).
Valid U.S. Driver's License (travel required).
