Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Development Activities: Originate and manage energy storage projects, overseeing land acquisition, permitting, interconnection, tax negotiations, revenue contracting, and other critical project milestones.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Cultivate and manage relationships with key stakeholders, including landowners, customers, local officials, permitting agencies, and regulatory bodies.
- Market Expertise: Stay ahead of market trends, regulatory changes, and emerging opportunities to evaluate the value potential of energy storage projects.
- Project Management: Create and oversee project development plans, schedules, budgets, and risk assessments to ensure timely and successful delivery.
- Team Leadership: Build and manage internal and external teams to advance permitting, interconnection, and engineering efforts.
- Due Diligence: Outline and manage project due diligence processes to support commercial and M&A activities.
- Innovation: Collaborate across disciplines to bring new ideas and innovative approaches to development projects.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3-4 years in project development within the renewable energy sector, with a strong preference for energy storage expertise.
- Regional Knowledge: Familiarity with development activities in the MISO or PJM regions is highly preferred.
- Leadership: Proven experience in leading and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver complex projects.
- Adaptability: Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, small-team environment and take ownership of multiple priorities.
- Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of energy storage technologies, regulatory frameworks, and market dynamics.
