A prestigious and long-time operating full-service Architecture & Design firm in Michigan is seeking an experienced and passionately creative Design Architect. The ideal candidate will primarily lead the early-design phases for a wide range of projects from K-12 Education, Higher Education, Libraries, Community buildings, Multi-use facilities, and more!
Responsibilities:
- Create initial design concepts that align with client requirements, project goals, and regulatory standards.
- Produce architectural drawings, models, and renderings using CAD software.
- Work with clients to refine design plans and incorporate their feedback.
- Stay informed on architectural trends, materials, and technologies to guide design decisions.
- Collaborate with engineers, contractors, and other professionals to ensure design feasibility.
- Present design proposals and communicate ideas effectively to clients and stakeholders.
- Ensure designs comply with zoning laws, building codes, and other regulations.
- Choose materials, finishes, and furnishings that meet design, budget, and sustainability criteria.
Requirements:
- 8+ years of relevant experience with a K-12 project background being preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture or adjacent field
- Proficiency in relevant software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, Sketchup, Rhino etc.
- Experience leading early project-phase design; conceptual design and design development
- Excellent communication, collaboration, creative, and artistic skills
- Knowledge in building codes, regulations, and industry design standards
- Experience leading and mentoring junior teams of designer
