CPPA Manager (Corporate Power Purchase Agreement Manager)

Position Overview: We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced CPPA Manager to join a dynamic team in Japan. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in the development, negotiation, and management of Corporate Power Purchase Agreements (CPPAs) for onshore renewable energy projects. This position requires a deep understanding of the Japanese energy market, strong business development skills, and expertise in contract and financial management.
Key Responsibilities:
Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities for CPPAs in the onshore renewable energy sector.
- Develop and maintain relationships with corporate clients, energy buyers, and other key stakeholders.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive landscape.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement business strategies and plans.
Contract Management:
- Lead the negotiation and execution of CPPAs with corporate clients and energy buyers.
- Draft, review, and manage contracts to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with legal, technical, and financial teams to ensure all contractual obligations are met.
- Monitor and manage contract performance, addressing any issues or disputes that arise.
Financial Management:
- Review financial models and projections to support CPPA negotiations and decision-making.
- Analyze and assess the financial viability of potential CPPA projects.
- Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting for CPPA projects.
- Work with finance teams to secure funding and investment for CPPA projects.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay informed about relevant regulations, policies, and industry standards in Japan.
- Ensure all CPPA activities comply with local, national, and international regulations.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and industry associations as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Law, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the energy sector, with a focus on renewable energy and CPPAs preferred.
- Strong understanding of the Japanese energy market and regulatory environment.
- Proven track record in business development, contract negotiation, and financial management.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Japanese and English languages.
