POSITION SUMMARY:
The OSC Controls Engineering Technician is responsible for assisting operations in maintaining equipment availability. They ensure that any equipment malfunction or data issue related to breakdowns, mid-stage shutdowns, or other unavailability is thoroughly investigated for root cause, the solution is implemented, and documentation is properly created or modified and stored for future reference. The OSC Controls Engineering Technician actively assists during events involving equipment unavailability and participates in communications or meetings surrounding shutdowns. They ensure that resolution or follow-up projects are completed promptly and verify quick responses to restore field operations, maintaining maximum operational capability at all times.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Perform daily safe operations in accordance with company policies.
- Troubleshoot and perform necessary electrical, controls, or communication system repairs to malfunctioning equipment during rig-up processes and/or normal operations.
- Program software parameters for PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, routers, switches, instrumentation, and other related programmable equipment.
- Participate in company safety initiatives, including daily programs (written documentation, observations, etc.), and adhere to policies and procedures ensuring the wellbeing of all employees and operational excellence.
- Work as a team with fleet technicians and electrical supervisors to manage efficiencies during new pad startups before well open.
- Comply with all government, industry, and regulatory standards to ensure a healthy and safe work environment for all employees.
- Demonstrate high proficiency in the maintenance of pumps, blenders, and power generation equipment.
- Additional duties may be assigned by supervisors as needed, consistent with the company's Operational Training Matrix and employee progression plans.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity.
- Collaborate and seek guidance through the Asset Integrity Team group of SMEs for direct hands-on assistance if required.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Successfully pass background check and pre-employment drug screening.
- Possess a valid U.S. Driver's License.
- Daily overtime required and predictable, in-person attendance.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL:
- High School Diploma or GED; Technical College Training preferred.
- 5 years of previous electronics experience required, or an Associate's Degree in Electrical, Controls, or Automation Technology or a related field.
- Previous oilfield experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to exhibit high aptitude in technical skill sets and competencies as outlined below.
QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to speak, read, write, and comprehend English.
- Ability to attend and successfully complete the scheduled New Hire Safety training, including H2S, Powered Industrial, and basic First Aid and CPR.
- Successfully attend and complete annual safety and recertification training.
- Ability to work a minimum of 12-hour shifts for 14 consecutive days.
- Ability to lead focused discussions around electrical safety and electrical practices.
- Possess fundamental knowledge of fracturing equipment.
- Highly proficient in the use of multimeter testing devices.
- In-depth proficiency in the communication of pumps, blenders, and power generation equipment.
- Intermediate mechanical and mathematical aptitude.
- Ability to successfully work within a team environment to complete assigned tasks.
- Ability to receive instruction well and interact positively within assigned work groups.
- Possess intermediate interpersonal skills.
- Ability to plan and execute electronics projects on-site.
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft platforms.
- Ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment, adapt to change, and be receptive to new instructions.
- Fully knowledgeable and compliant with company digital platforms, including Active Learner, Paycom, KPA, and other company-mandated systems. For new hires, the ability to quickly learn company platforms.

Daily, employees are required to walk, sit, climb, bend, reach, and squat/kneel. When required to go to a wellsite, employees will rideshare with others. Work environments include exposure to hazardous materials, operating conditions, audio levels up to 85 dB, and inclement weather. Employees must wear company-mandated personal protective equipment (PPE), including fire retardant coveralls, arc flash suits, safety hats, steel-toe boots, safety glasses, ear protection, high-voltage gloves, and impact gloves, and must strictly adhere to all safety policies. Electronic Technicians are regularly required to lift heavy objects and must be able to lift 49 lbs. independently and 50-100 lbs. with a team lift.
