We are seeking an experienced CAD Drafter with expertise in Industrial or Building Automation Systems (BAS) controls to join our team in Birmingham, AL. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating and modifying detailed CAD drawings for HVAC controls. This role requires strong attention to detail, technical knowledge of control systems, and the ability to collaborate with engineers and project managers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and revise CAD drawings for BAS control systems.
- Work with engineers to create accurate electrical schematics, control panel layouts, and P&ID diagrams.
- Ensure drawings comply with industry standards, client requirements, and project specifications.
- Maintain and organize CAD libraries, templates, and documentation.
- Assist in reviewing field markups and redlines to update as-built drawings.
- Collaborate with project managers, technicians, and engineers to support design and implementation.
- Ensure adherence to company and industry drafting standards.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 2+ years of experience in industrial automation or BAS controls drafting.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar CAD software.
- Experience with industrial control systems, PLCs, and HVAC automation is a plus.
- Understanding of electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and control panel layouts.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and control diagrams.
- Excellent communication and team collaboration skills.
