Duties and Responsibilities:
- Review and understand project mechanical, plumbing, and electrical plans, P&IDs, specifications, and customer requirements.
- Create design packages using AutoCAD, ePlans, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Deliverables include:
- Design drawings
- Plan layouts
- System wiring diagrams
- Equipment Schematics & P&IDs
- Network layout and wiring diagrams
- Instrumentation and panel location drawings
- Material selection, tagging, and creation of a Bill of Materials/Instrument List
- Device and Equipment Schedules
- Start-up sheet development
- Provide technical support to the project field team.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in designing building automation systems, with a strong understanding of HVAC, electrical, and control systems.
- Proficiency in using design and engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, or similar tools.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, standards, and regulations related to BAS.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Certification in building automation systems (e.g., Certified Energy Manager, LEED AP, etc.) is a plus.
