We are seeking an experienced Engineering/Construction Manager to lead and oversee the design, construction, and management of water and wastewater treatment projects in Baltimore, MD. The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of engineering practices, environmental regulations, and construction processes, with a focus on municipal water and wastewater infrastructure. The role requires strong leadership, project management, and communication skills to ensure the successful completion of projects within budget, on time, and in compliance with all safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Management:
Oversee the planning, design, and construction of water and wastewater treatment facilities, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and budget. - Team Leadership:
Manage and lead a multidisciplinary team of engineers, contractors, and construction workers through all phases of the project. - Collaboration:
Work closely with government agencies, clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with project goals and compliance with regulatory requirements. - Budgeting and Cost Control:
Develop project budgets, monitor costs, and implement cost-saving measures while maintaining quality standards. - Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure all projects comply with local, state, and federal environmental regulations, permits, and safety standards, including the EPA and other regulatory bodies. - Risk Management:
Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring minimal disruption to project timelines and objectives. - Quality Control:
Oversee the review of engineering designs, construction plans, and specifications to ensure adherence to established standards and client expectations. - Reporting:
Prepare and present regular project updates, status reports, and performance evaluations to senior management and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within six months of hire is highly desirable.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in engineering and construction management, with a focus on water/wastewater treatment projects.
- Strong understanding of water and wastewater treatment processes, infrastructure, and associated environmental regulations.
- Proven experience in managing large-scale municipal or industrial water/wastewater projects.
- Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera) and engineering design tools (AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and effectively manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of construction safety practices and OSHA regulations.
