The client is a leading player in the data center industry, committed to delivering state-of-the-art infrastructure solutions. As part of their expansion in Malaysia, they are seeking a dynamic and experienced Construction Lead to oversee the execution of construction projects within their data center facilities.
Position Overview: The Construction Lead will play a crucial role in managing and coordinating all aspects of construction projects within the data center domain. This individual will lead a team of construction professionals, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and in adherence to quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
Oversee the planning, scheduling, and execution of construction projects from initiation to completion.
Collaborate with project stakeholders, including architects, engineers, and contractors, to ensure alignment with project objectives.
Team Leadership:
Lead and motivate a construction team, including project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment.
Provide guidance and support to ensure team members meet project milestones and objectives.
Quality Assurance and Safety:
Implement and enforce quality assurance and safety protocols to ensure construction activities comply with industry standards and regulations.
Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to maintain a secure work environment.
Budget and Cost Control:
Manage project budgets, including cost estimation, tracking, and reporting.
Identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety standards.
Vendor and Stakeholder Management:
Cultivate relationships with vendors, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery.
Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to address concerns and facilitate effective communication.
Construction Documentation:
Oversee the preparation and maintenance of construction documentation, including plans, specifications, and progress reports.
Ensure all documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and accessible to relevant parties.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Electrical from an accredited college or university.
Proven 10+ years of experience in construction project management, preferably within the data center industry.
Strong leadership and communication skills.
In-depth knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety standards.
Project Management experience with >10MW data centre project.
