Essential Qualifications
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on transportation.
- A valid PE / TE license in California (Civil and/or Traffic).
- 15+ years of professional experience in traffic operations, design, or transportation engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of the complete streets field
- A robust professional network of clients.
- Extensive familiarity with design standards such as AASHTO, Caltrans, APBP, and other active transportation and complete streets guidelines.
- Proven experience managing complete streets projects, including:
- Leading teams (including sub-consultants) to meet project objectives within budget and schedule constraints.
- Identifying and analyzing complex corridor issues.
- Crafting innovative and tailored technical solutions.
- Developing successful complete streets proposals.
- Excellent written communication skills, adaptable for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with clients, present at public meetings, and facilitate workshops.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in supervising, training, and mentoring staff.
- Consultant experience in Northern California, including the San Francisco Bay Area.
- Experience in integrating equity considerations into transportation system assessments and during the development phases of complete streets projects.
- Knowledge of transportation funding sources and the grant application process.
- Proficiency in Auto-CAD, Synchro, GIS, and other operational analysis software.
