Summary
Lead the design and engineering efforts for DG solar projects, playing a crucial role in shaping the future of renewable energy. This position involves overseeing civil design, ensuring regulatory compliance, and optimizing site layouts to maximize efficiency and performance. As a key technical leader, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive successful project execution from concept to completion.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead civil engineering design for DG solar projects, including site grading, stormwater management, and foundation design.
- Develop and review site layouts to optimize land use, constructability, and energy production efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including permitting and environmental requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and coordination with internal teams, contractors, and external consultants.
- Support due diligence, feasibility studies, and risk assessments for potential project sites.
Required Qualifications:
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on renewable energy
- Proficiency in civil design software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D and hydrology modeling tools.
- Strong understanding of permitting processes, environmental regulations, and construction best practices.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Experience with DG solar projects, battery energy storage systems (BESS), or other renewable energy developments.
- Knowledge of geotechnical considerations, stormwater management strategies, and erosion control methods.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate with various stakeholders effectively.
- Familiarity with interconnection processes and utility coordination for solar projects.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a focus on innovation and efficiency in renewable energy design.
