About the Company:
Our client, a fast-growing renewable energy firm specializing in Battery Energy Storage Systems, is looking to add their 7th employee - a talented Civil Design Engineer to support their expanding portfolio of utility-scale BESS projects. With 5-10 new sites on the horizon, this is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and make a significant impact in the renewable energy space.
Position Overview:
The Civil Design Engineer will play a key role in the design and development of BESS projects, focusing on civil site design, stormwater management, and flow calculations. This role requires proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and experience with civil design concepts. Although renewable energy experience is not required, familiarity with land development or infrastructure projects will be beneficial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop civil site plans for Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS) projects, including grading, drainage, and stormwater management.
- Perform stormwater and flow calculations to ensure regulatory compliance and efficient site functionality.
- Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to create detailed site layouts and construction drawings.
- Collaborate with internal project teams and external stakeholders to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met.
- Support project management tasks as needed, including coordination with permitting agencies and utility companies.
- Assist in the preparation of Construction Use Permits (CUP) and other regulatory documentation.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 2-5 years of experience in civil design, with a focus on site design, stormwater calculations, and flow analysis.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D (required).
- Experience with Civil Engineering principles, including grading, drainage, and stormwater management.
- EIT certification preferred; PE license in CA or CO is a plus but not required.
- Experience in BESS or renewable energy is not required but is a plus.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a collaborative, remote team environment.
