Business Development Manager
Position Overview
We are seeking a Business Development Manager to join a leading organization in Japan, which is focused on fostering new business opportunities. This role will concentrate on enhancing renewable energy production in Japan, particularly through Corporate Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs) and Virtual Power Plants (VPPs). You will be responsible for strategizing and implementing new energy source pipelines, primarily in solar and wind sectors, while exploring avenues in the decarbonization market.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop sourcing strategies for new solar and wind power projects.
- Conduct site assessments and initial planning for potential projects nationwide.
- Lead the initial development phase, including obtaining necessary permits and local approvals.
- Build partnerships and manage development partners to expand power generation capacity.

Qualifications and Skills
Required:
- Experience leading renewable energy project development at a team level.
- Practical experience in initial project development (origination).
- Over 5 years of experience in the renewable energy sector.
- Experience collaborating with external stakeholders (developers, financial institutions, EPC contractors, local governments).
- Fluent in Japanese (N1 level or higher).
Preferred:
- Experience in land acquisition and development for renewable energy projects.
- Background in power generation, general trading companies, real estate, or renewable energy EPC.
- Business-level English proficiency for collaboration with international developers and off-takers.
